IQNet Forum, an Important PR and Networking Tool for IQNet and its Partners
The IQNet Forum is a major Public Relations and networking activity of IQNet, which is conducted in cooperation with IQNet partners all over the world. In the past few years, such events were planned and organised with great success in the following regions and countries:
- America: Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Venezuela
- Asia: China, Singapore
- Europe: Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Romania, Russia, Switzerland
A. Targets of the IQNet Forum
In general, the IQNet Forum intends to
- inform third parties about IQNet, its targets and benefits for customers and consumers
- strengthen the position of the IQNet partner(s) in the hosting country
- build a platform for networking possibilities among hosts, speakers and participants
The IQNet Forum, which is usually hosted by one or several IQNet partners, may contain presentations from
- IQNet: targets, tasks, products, benefits
- Hosting partner(s): information on the organisation, IQNet activities in its market
- Customers (results achieved with IQNet products)
- Certification (trends and prospective/future requirements)
- Standardisation (outlook on new standards)
- Training providers
- Business Excellence providers
- Accreditation
- Trade and industry
- Politics
In the audience with an average of 250-400 participants per Forum, we usually find representatives coming from most interested parties, like
- Stakeholders and employees of the hosting IQNet partner(s)
- Delegates from IQNet partners coming from all over the world
- Existing and potential customers
- Consultants and training providers
- Governmental representatives
- Standards organisation and accreditation body representatives
- Representatives from professional associations (industry, trade, consumers)
- Politicians and ambassadors
In many cases, certificates or attestations are awarded to customers in connection with the IQNet Forum.
B. IQNet-SRAC Forum 2005
The latest IQNet Forum was conducted in Romania, hosted by the IQNet partner SRAC. SRAC (The Romanian Society for Quality Assurance) is the leading certification body in Romania. With more than 3.500 certificates, SRAC covers about 50% of the Romanian market. The key target of the forum was to present added value services to the Romanian market place, also regarding the future Romanian membership in the European Union.
A large number of national delegates (customers and delegates from Ministries, Agencies, Commissions, Standards and Accreditation bodies, Research and Foreign Trade Institutes etc.), as well as IQNet representatives coming from all over the globe participated in the IQNet SRAC Forum, which was held at the Hotel Athénée Palace Hilton, 23 August 2005.
The Forum started with a welcome address by Mr Demeter Attila – Secretary of State, Ministry of Economy and Commerce, which was delivered by Mr Bogos Zsolt, Director of the Cabinet.
Dr Fabio Roversi, President of IQNet, presented the history of IQNet in the past 15 years, with the challenges, aims and targets of the biggest certification network in the world with more than 250.000 certificates issued by its 38 partners, representing a market share in management system certification of more than 30%.
Dr Dan Stoichitoiu, President of SRAC, presented SRAC as the leading certification body in Romania, and underlined the challenges and results of the partnership of SRAC inside the global Network IQNet.
The successful own IQNet products were presented by Mr René Wasmer, Vice-President of IQNet (Best Board Practice), and Mr Hans Buser, Secretary General of IQNet (IQNet 9004, GoodPriv@cy, IBEC, Qweb).
Dr Costin Lianu, General Director of the General Directorate of Export Promotion, Ministry of Economy and Commerce, presented “Quality Management” as an essential factor in the national export strategy for “Branding” for Romania.
Ms Florentina Cazan, Counsellor of the National Agency for SMEs (ANIMMC), spoke on the “Increasing the competitiveness of the Romanian SMEs – the key link of the partnership between the authorities and the civil society”.

The “Customer’s Voice”, was an important part of the IQNet-SRAC Forum in Bucharest, with contributions from
- Mr Dorin Aldescu – Quality Director at ALCATEL ROMANIA S.A.
- Mr Adrian Pop – Director to the Subsidiary of the national electric operator ELECTRICA BANAT
- Mr Stefan Diaconescu – Director to SOFTWIN – IT company producing the antivirus software BitDefender
- Ms Liliana Anton – Quality and Environmental Director at POLICOLOR – important Romanian producer of paints and varnishes
Fourteen SRAC customers were awarded with the SRAC and IQNet certificates, which were handed over by the Presidents of both organisations.
The forum received a high attention in Romania through broadcasting, newspapers and magazines.
