MSZT's new service:
Certification of children's playground equipment
MSZT carries out certification activities according to the relevant product standards and laws. Recently, the scope of product certification activity was expanded by a new service: conformity assessment and certification of children's playground equipment.
Unfortunately, children's accidents may occur on the playgrounds in Hungary as well as in other countries of the world. Such cases drew the attention to the condition of the playgrounds in Hungary, and the safety of their equipment.
In Hungary the local governments that operate the children's playgrounds are committed to make the playgrounds safer and to eliminate the source of danger, so an overall examination started regarding the condition of children's playground equipment in Hungary. MSZT as an active participant in this project developed and applies a conformity assessment and certification system for the children's playground equipment.
The EN 1176-(1-7) and EN 1177 standards create the basis of the tests and assessments that define the safety requirements of children's playground equipment.
The local government in District 7 of Budapest recently called upon MSZT to assess the playground equipment in the district according to the standards. The condition of the equipment was surveyed. The corrections based on our observations were performed, so the children can use safe equipment on the playgrounds that meet the requirements of the standards.
